It owes its robust performance to a four-pole motor that delivers 550 in./lbs. of peak torque and 29,000 BPM, and it features a variable-speed trigger that provides speed control between 0-1,700 RPM (high speed) and 0-450 RPM (low speed) and an all-metal 1/2-inch single-sleeve ratcheting chuck for bit retention. These are workhorse tools. It's hard to tell how much "snap" an old tool has lost until you try a new one. I like the new drill's compact size and the light comes in handy as well. Battery life and power are great, but I wouldn't expect anything less from a new Milwaukee tool. Time will be the final answer on that. The Sawsall is fine but the new additional front boot compromises the visual alignment of blade to work.
