Amazon.com Product Description About this Sawzall Model The 11 amp Sawzall from Milwaukee is durable and super light -- weighing in at just 7 pounds, for the best power-to-weight ratio in its class. This small but tough saw offers a variable speed trigger that sends the blade from 0-2,800 strokes per minute, with a 3/4-inch stroke length and a Quik-Lok blade clamp for fast, tool-less blade changes. The 6509-22 is chock full of convenience features that will make it a go-to pick that never gathers dust in your garage. Its rubber boot provides superior gripping for real control and exceptional accuracy, and the adjustable shoe gives you longer blade life and more cut control. You can even clamp the blades upside down for special cutting circumstances. Double insulated with a double-bearing wobble plate mechanism for smoother handling, this saw also boasts a heavy-duty 'S' jacket and an 8-foot, 2-wire cord. This Sawzall uses standard 1/2-inch shank Sawzall blades, and one is included with this kit -- plus a carrying case to keep everything together and organized. Applications The 6509-22 is the perfect choice for any task that requires a reciprocating saw; and depending on your Sawzall blade choice, you'll find that it cuts easily through wood and plastics, metal, pipes, and even wood with nails in it. Choosing a Sawzall Blade When selecting a Sawzall blade, first consider your project. Each Sawzall blade style has a series of icons on its packaging -- and these icons demonstrate the materials which the blades are best-suited to cut. There's a separate icon for a variety of materials, including wood, plastics, wood with nails, and metal. Next, decide on the proper blade shape to suit your project. Sloped blades are best for plunge cutting, straight blades are ideal for edge cutting, and scroll blades are used for cutting curved or circular shapes. Finally, be sure to pick a blade with the proper Teeth Per Inch (TPI). See the chart below for more information.

Sawzall bought at Amazon.com July 22, 2010 Steve A. Ramsdell (Shorewood, IL, USA) I needed a replacement fast. This was a very good purchase. Shipping was very quick. The product worked great right out of the box. It was a replacement for a different brand. Milwaukee makes a very good tool. So far its great with treated and untreated wood and cutting out nails and screws.
this review is for amateurs July 11, 2010 Susan Jurist (La Jolla, CA) It's always good to know what tools the pros use, but ... what about the rest of us? I like knowing which brands the pros chose for reliability but still wasn't sure what to get. A search on saws brings up a confusingly large number of choices. The decision was made because this saw weighed less than the others with similar power and because it was plug-in instead of cordless. If you aren't using something all the time, batteries lose power & the tool is never ready when you are.
When the box came, it was larger than I expected. I thought of returning it unopened and went back to search Amazon for smaller saws. Did I really need that much power? Turns out the answer is yes. Opened it this morning. Took it out of the case. Looked at the manual long enough to figure out have been able to cut that easily. The saw is easier to handle than a circular saw, and even with puny me holding it, cuts cleanly and quickly.
So with all those choices out there, it's always hard to determine how much power you need vs. how easy is it to use a tool. Over-powered is just as bad a decision as under-powered because you pay more for something you really don't need. This saw seems to fit the middle ground quite perfectly. The only problem is now I want to tear down my walls.

Even better than dewalt July 8, 2010 Benjamin L. Dewalt used to be myt favorite but I bought a Bosch combo pack, and couldn't be happier. Milwaukee tools and Bosch blades; great together. Then again, anything with Bosch blades Milwaukee still makes great tools. I've heard some of their new stuff is hecho en Mexico, but this one's still made in the the usa.. Even being the smaller of their Sawzalls, it's still powerful enough to get through 2x6s and 3-4 diameter tree branches with ease, when you choose the appropriate blades.

Great saw for a great price. Not to heavy, yet has plenty of power to get the job done. This thing cuts great. Can't wait to use it again and again. I like it so much I look for any job I can do with this thing. Great tool.
Good Replacement May 12, 2010 H. Wasson (Liberty Hill, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I replaced an old Craftsman with this one. The Craftsman still works fine but changing blades was a pain with a hex wrench. I have only made a few cuts in wood with the Milwaukee so far and it was easy to control even plunge cutting. Blade changes are easy with just a twist of the blade release. The saw is well balanced and has a good weight to it. It will get put through the paces here shortly when I start cutting I beams with it. If first impressions are anything to go by I feel it will not disappoint me. If it does I will update the review accordingly.
